Kathryn Troutman is the expert when it comes to writing resumes for Federal job announcements.
Here’s a GREAT video she produced on “How to Write a Federal Resume”. While it’s focus is on assisting veterans, the guidance Kathryn offers is universal! She gives excellent examples of the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY resumes and offers common-sense tips about what the HR Specialist needs to make qualification determinations.
I wholely agree with the information Kathryn offers and encourage you to view, bookmark, and review/use her guidance when applying for Federal jobs!
Thanks for sharing this video, Doris! We have a training coming up in a couple weeks (Feb 2) on the same subject.
There is a very timely article in today’s edition of FedSmith titled “Avoid These Top 10 Common Pitfalls in Your Federal Resume. Give it a look … :-)!
Thanks for sharing this link!
Kathryn knows more about federal resumes and finding the right federal job than almost anyone I’ve met. She is truly an expert dedicated to helping others get into the federal government.
She and I recently released the second edition of The Student’s Federal Career Guide too, which has a ton of great information students (high school to post-doc), veterans, and really anyone trying to get into the federal government.
