In an announcement made earlier this week, Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell unveiled a revamped website for business owners and potential entrepreneurs looking to start a business in the Commonwealth. The governor said the new website is designed to be the one and only stop for interested businesses.
Virginia Business One Stop combines the needed forms and registration information from six state agencies so that interested entrepreneurs have only one website to visit. The agencies are those usually involved in the creation of a new business, including the Department of Taxation, Department of General Services, Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, the Virginia Employment Commission, the Department of Business Assistance and the Department of Minority Business Enterprise.
“The streamlined Business One Stop will ensure that one, and only one, stop is necessary to get businesses up and running with minimal delay,” Gov. McDonnell said in a statement. “This tool will further solidify Virginia’s place as the best place in the country to start and grow a new business”
The website’s launch is the first step to integrate more state agencies into Business One Stop, officials noted. As additional agencies and processes are integrated, the user experience will continue to improve.
