The City of SF is looking for developer(s) who are knowledgeable about open source technologies and apps (Drupal, PHP, etc) to develop something similar to Data.gov. Our goal is to keep this development open source and share with any other local or state agency.
While this is a volunteer effort, efforts will be recognized through a press release and attribution.
The purpose of this project is to improve public access to machine readable datasets generated by the City & County of San Francisco by establishing a central clearinghouse – DataSF.
A primary goal of DataSF is to improve access to city data and expand creative use of those datasets beyond the walls of government by encouraging innovative ideas (e.g., mobile applications). DataSF strives to make government more transparent and is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in government.
