NextGov reports that NASA has launched a new feature on its website – space ringtones. NASA fans can now download the sound of a space shuttle taking off, Neil Armstrong’s famous line, “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” or “Houston we’ve had a problem.” NextGov reports:
“NASA has been making historic sounds for over 50 years,” Jerry Colen, NASA App project manager Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif., said in a statement. “Now we’re making some of these memorable sounds easy to find and use.”
This is just another fun way NASA is encouraging people to engage. I wonder how people are setting up the ring tones. Since my Great Uncle worked for NASA during the Apollo missions, I feel obligated to set his ringtone to “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
Is anyone going to download the ringtones? Who are using for each tone?
