GovLoop Profile

Lena is one of my favorite people in the government world. Who else can you talk public policy nerdiness for hours and then switch to an epic hockey conversation within seconds. Further, she was one of the first in the Gov 2.0 space (before it was called that) and her work at the Collaboration Project (with the dream team of Frank Digiammarino, Dan Munz, and more) has been some of the most impressive in the space (the first ever national dialogues to Open Gov directive work). She was one of the first people I told about my idea for GovLoop and has been a great supporter ever since.

Lena Trudeau serves as Vice President at the National Academy of Public Administration. In this capacity, she leads the National Academy’s service delivery organization, supervises the conception and execution of strategic initiatives, opens new lines of business and drives organizational change. She has recently worked on studies for the U.S. Coast Guard, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of State and the National Park Service. In addition, Lena is a founder of the Collaboration Project, an independent forum of leaders committed to leveraging web 2.0 and the benefits of collaborative technology to solve government’s complex problems.

Lena brings over 15 years of consulting and management experience to the National Academy, leading multi-million dollar engagements for clients in the public, private and non-profit sectors. She received a Masters of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Social Science in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Ottawa.
