That means here at GovLoop, we’re hiring for our summer fellowship cohort! We’re looking for bright, hard-working current or recent graduate students to help create valuable resources for our awesome members. We are accepting applications until March 27th. EDITORIAL FELLOW(S)– Approx. dates May-18th- December 18th
Potential responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with content creation of research reports and GovLoop guides
- Conducting interviews, research, and analysis on latest government key topics
- Copy editing blogs, guides and various GovLoop projects
- Help write compelling daily content for the GovLoop audience including the DorobekINSIDER, webinars and event recaps
- Attending government-related events in DC and capturing content through blogs, videos, and photos
- Writing internal briefs on knowledge cycle reports by industry, academia, or other publications
- Recruiting, identifying, and interviewing thought leaders in government
- Identifying best practices, strategies and challenges for government
- Supporting planning efforts for our annual NextGen Conference
Qualifications:
- Graduate student (preferable MPA/MPP but also could be journalism, graphic design, computer science, etc.) – exceptional undergraduates may be considered. Recent graduates will also be considered.
- Strong research and writing skills
- Experience and interest in the public sector
- Dynamic go-getter who can handle a range of tasks
- Passion for social media and new technology
- Ability to conduct quick research and synthesize into compelling, summary content
DIGITAL MARKETING FELLOW(S) – Approx. dates May-18th- December 18th
Potential responsibilities will include:
- Researching, maintaining, and analyzing Govloop’s web analytics and member data with Google Analytics and Eloqua
- Growing social media communities and tracking engagement
- Helping with marketing and execution of in-person and online events
- Assisting with the email promotion and follow-up for GovLoop training and events, such as Virtual Conferences, the Next Generation of Government Summit, Next Gen Road Shows and other in-person and online events
- Developing daily e-mail newsletter, including the review and selection of content
- Assisting with creating weekly jobs alerts emails
- Working closely with team lead on audience acquisition strategies including public relations and outreach.
- Analyzing effectiveness of email and social media campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Student or Recent Graduate (preferable communications or business degrees but also could be journalism, public policy, graphic design, computer science, etc.)
- Strong or exceptional writing and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of HTML code
- Experience with email marketing
- Previous experience with an marketing automation platform
- Active social media user
- Experience and/or interest in the public sector
- Dynamic go-getter who can handle a range of tasks
- Community organizing a plus (from politics to online)
- Passion for social media and new technology
- Know how to move fast and get stuff done
- Ability to conduct quick research and synthesize into compelling, summary content
- Interest and knowledge of technology (bonus if can do basic implementation)
DESIGN & MULTIMEDIA FELLOW(S) – Approx. dates May-18th- December 18th
Potential responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the layout and design of GovLoop content such as guides, reports, and other online resources as needed
- Assisting our event and marketing departments in designing collateral for in-person and online events, including posters, icons, web banners, etc.
- Image research, illustration, and designing marketing materials and collateral for print and the web (help us design items like new t-shirts, business cards, powerpoints, flyers, and more)
- Designing and developing new web landing pages
- Attending government-related events in DC and capture content through photo and video
- Plan, produce, and edit instructional design and event videos that will be used in a range of capacity from on-demand courses to promotional videos
Qualifications:
- Student or recently graduated (preferable graphic/web design, audio/film production, computer science, marketing, but will also consider other degrees with relevant experience)
- One or more of the following skills (please rank your skills 1-10)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
- Experience with FinalCutProX and/or Adobe Premiere
- Experience conducting and editing audio (i.e. radio interviews or vocal)
- Experience with working in HTML, CSS and/or Javascript also a plus, as well as experience with designing for WordPress or other CMS platforms.
- Ability to manage projects effectively and efficiently as well as excellent oral and written communication. Professionalism in collaborating with others both inside and outside of the office.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND EVENTS FELLOW(S) – Approx. dates May-18th- December 18th
Potential responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the planning and implementation of in-person and online events
- Support with the planning and implementation of our flagship 650+ person Next Generation of Government Training Summit
- Build reports on marketing program metrics
- Support account managers and sales team in day-to-day operations
- Work with VP of Business Development and Senior Learning Consultant on marketing and sales tools and operations
- Assist with the identification and scheduling of Subject Matter Experts for training activities
- Develop slide decks and other digital training materials, as needed
- Assist with the preparation of business proposals and contract reporting activities, as needed
- Work closely with Salesforce, ON24 and additional sales forecasting and event management software
Qualifications:
- Graduate student or Recent college graduate
- Dynamic go-getter who can handle a range of tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Past customer service experience preferred
- Past event planning or marketing experience preferred
