Canada knows the path forward in innovation for the public sector lies in cloud computing. And to meet its potential, they’ve been aiming to meet three main goals: bring the supply of IT service into balance with the demand for citizen services; provide a consistent approach to managing the risks of cloud adoption; and prepare the IT workforce for cloud.
That’s why as part of vision setting and meeting their goals of using the cloud, in February of this year, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat hosted Canada’s first-ever Cloud First Day event. The event brought together leaders from government and industry sectors to share their cloud experiences and best practices.
“Modern IT infrastructure is the backbone of better digital service delivery,” said the Honourable Scott Brison, President of the Treasury Board of Canada. “Responding quickly to the changing needs of Canadians while constantly improving Government of Canada services requires new, agile, cloud-based solutions.”
To engender this vision, the Shared Services Canada organization recently announced the awarding of multiple contracts to six partners of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network for access to AWS cloud services. The AWS Partner Network (APN) is a global partner program that focuses on helping organizations build a successful AWS-based business by providing business, technical, marketing, and go-to-market support.
One of the partner awardees is TeraMach Technologies Inc, an AWS Standard Consulting partner, an AWS Authorized Government Reseller, and an AWS Public Sector Partner. TeraMach is also AWS Authorized Commercial Reseller.
Since 1996, TeraMach has been a technology solution provider serving public and private clients across Canada. Customers have viewed TeraMach as a trusted supplier of hardware, software and professional services. Their main goal is to provide solutions that improve efficiency and reduce cost.
TeraMach is partnered with AWS across Canada empowering public and private sector clients to secure, store and process their data on AWS by leveraging AWS’ infrastructure technology combined with TeraMach Cloudx™ to build their businesses and run their applications in the cloud.
“We have received great validation by existing TeraMach Cloudx™ customers who are seeing the many benefits of managing their cloud services through Cloudx,” said Peter Fu, TeraMach CTO. “That, to us, is a true testament of its fit and timeliness for both public and private sector organizations across Canada.”
TeraMach’s Cloudx™ platform enables clients to consume cloud services through multiple cloud providers with transparency, agility and reliable private network connectivity. And their experience is reflected in numerous procurement vehicles for the Canadian federal government, provincial government, provincially funded organizations as well as the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace.
