Learn How to Use the Cloud for Mission-Critical Projects at the AWS Public Sector Summit

The shift in technology and move to the cloud is not like any other in our lifetime, and the speed of innovation is happening much faster than anyone anticipated. Cloud is the new normal. Every industry and all levels of government—including the U. S. federal government—are utilizing the cloud for their most complex, innovative, and mission-critical projects.

This June, global leaders from government, education, and nonprofit organizations will come together for the ninth annual AWS Public Sector Summit in Washington, DC on Wednesday, June 20 and Thursday, June 21. Be sure to sign up here. With over 100 breakout sessions led by visionaries, experts, and peers, you’ll take home new strategies and tactics for shaping culture, building new skillsets, saving costs, and achieving your mission.

As cloud technology continues to be a major catalyst in how the federal government can achieve operational efficiencies and innovate on demand to advance their mission, there is a growing interest to learn not only the basics of the cloud but also how to leverage cutting-edge technologies like machine learning.

Federal government technology employees can experience greater empowerment with new technology tools that allow them to focus on strategic work. By equipping staff with cloud computing capabilities and the confidence to take on new responsibilities, government agencies invite fresh ideas, a place to test them, and the potential to solve complex issues affecting the environment in which they operate.

Such was the case at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Before the agency took advantage of the cloud, the time between recognizing a mission need to deploying the actual capability was measured in years, and sometimes even decades. The cloud allowed USCIS to create a more efficient pipeline for deploying code for new features and services, one that allowed the agency to move at “the speed of thought” instead of waiting on lengthy procurement processes. Today, the agency has several code deployments that happen every day and many others that take a few weeks as opposed to years.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how you can use the cloud to advance your mission. If two days isn’t enough, there will also be an opportunity to register for technical boot camps and workshops on the Summit Pre-day on June 19.
