Had Kate Lundy from Australia Senate on Gov 2.0 Radio show on Sunday.
They’ve done an amazing online and offline for the Gov 2.0 Taskforce where they’ve held 3 in-person meetings to get feedback combined with online at same time where they have Twitter, live-stream, Slideshare, Flickr, YouTube/Vimeo, and Facebook.
She had a few lessons learned:
-Go where people are – asking people to come to your site to collaborate is tricky and hard to get people to do
-Online video streaming can be hard and shouldn’t be underestimated
-Online video streaming can be hard and shouldn’t be underestimated
-Conversation tended to self-moderate but need people there
-Requires human bandwidth for the work such as getting all sites set up, online video, transcribing all video presentation
She said Australia inspired by everyone but it runs in a circle. Inspire each other. Follows U.S. and U.K. a lot. Lots of similarities but all slightly different.
