How Should Elected Officials Use Twitter?

My husband loves USA Today (no offense to him or the paper, but it’s mostly because of the colors and graphics). A few weeks ago, he called me at work to ask if I’d seen their story “More governors finding Twitter tweets sweet.” (Background: This is relevant to me since I oversee social media forRead… Read more »

Open GovLoop? You Decide!

A couple months ago, we launched a forum asking: “Should OpenGov Spark OpenGovLoop?”. We presented several reasons – to make it easier to find in search engines and enable more people to benefit from it – and offered several options along a continuum of being totally closed to wide open. I give much more detailRead… Read more »

Many jobseekers become frustrated with the user interface and then even moreRead… Read more »

Apple iPad In My Eye?

My wife just asked if I was going to get one of those tablet things that Apple came out with today. She said so in that “you know if you say yes, you’ll never hear the end of it—and if you say no, I’ll simply spare your life” sort of voice. My answer though wasRead… Read more »

Pay for Performance Could Work?

Pretty interesting article on pay-for-performance. What is your take? How important is pay-for-performance? Part of my hypothesis is that “private sector” does not have a perfect pay system themself. Outside of certain roles like sales, lots of jobs have hard time measuring concrete performance and negotiations is truly what makes higher salaries (not performance). OutgoingRead… Read more »
