How Well Does the PR Industry Promote Itself?

In a world of media overload and convergence everywhere, I wonder which media/PR companies do their own best marketing and outreach? I ran acorss an article on Etrade this morning which is worthy of a read, because all gov agencies have public affairs offices and many may use PR firms to help them with theirRead… Read more »

WikiLeak Proof

Originally published on 10 Dec 2010 at ECM Gov Blog. The latest WikiLeaks release and subsequent media storm has caused me to think about the role that ECM plays in content security. When all of our records were on paper, they were easily lost, compromised, copied, and destroyed. However, in the digital age, when weRead… Read more »

AIIM Messiest Desk Contest – win a scanner

Free yourself from the shackles of too much paper. Win a Kodak scanner. Here’s how. Do co-workers place orange cones around your cubicle? Can they see you when they stop by for a visit? Do you have piles (you’ll say stacks) of – paper, magazines, newspapers, spreadsheets, a report on greenbar paper from 1989 –Read… Read more »

So…brilliant Govloopians: who do you think needs to know about this cool green project?

Howdy, Govloopians: I just posted a link to this very cool green office renovation-going-for-LEED-green project going on at 26 Federal Plaza in New York City, spearheaded by GSA. http://go.usa.gov/c82 (edited now so you can actually go to it! :)) I am a green nerd, and I also am a contractor working on GSA content, soRead… Read more »

I was somewhat curious when they mentioned that the system is stored off-site, which made me wonder if this was an actual stand-aloneRead… Read more »

Is your e-newsletter generating click-through for your agency? What percentage of click-through is enough? There are lots of opinions on this, but here’s my take: There are alwaysRead… Read more »

Looking for social media process tips…

Hi everyone, I’m familiar with the process that some agencies have in place to implement social media guidelines and begin using the various tools. In many cases, the guidelines and processes are developed and implemented by the Communication/Public Affairs office — is this pretty much standard practice across the government? If so, I’d be interestedRead… Read more »

How not to do it: Public Transport Authority

This is a post from a personal eGov blog I started a while back, but never found the time to really devote to it. I’m going to start a semi-regular feature piece here, at the moment under a working title of how not to do it. I want to make it crystal clear from theRead… Read more »
