This fall, GovLoop has been working with Washington City Paper to bring together Federal employees and more than 30 charities during this year’s Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA), the workplace giving campaign for Federal employees.
We have enjoyed spending time with hundreds of Federal workers from all over the District who are interested in learning more about local charities and how they can donate during this year’s campaign. This year, the “Lend a Hand Happy Hour” made three appearances throughout the fall months. Sponsored by Heineken, each happy hour allowed federal employees to grab a drink and meet some awesome charities.
The idea behind the event was simple: Get Federal employees in the same room with non-profits so they can get to know the people behind the organizations where they give their money every year. There really is nothing better than seeing govies having a blast and doing good all at the same time!
We had a great time at Policy, Public Bar, and McFadden’s. Each event had a fun activity for guests to participate in which allowed them to learn more about a particular charity, and share with the crowd. Jingles were sung, Pictures were drawn, and Post-Its decorated walls.
For those who were able to attend, thanks for being awesome and generous in this year’s CFCNCA. Haven’t made your donation? You still have time! The deadline for donations has been extended to December 31st! Visit http://www.cfcnca.org/ for all of the info you need to lend a hand!
Missed out? See how much fun we had:
