Gone are the days when inclement weather and traffic kept hard working government workers from being productive. It’s no longer about where you work, but what you do.
Microsoft recently conducted a survey that asked government workers to give their insight into the world of telework. Well, the results are in and I am fascinated at what was found!
1. Government workers truly go the distance: 37% of respondents reported that they travel a commute of 30 minutes to an hour to work each day. 29% travel at least 20 miles to work each day!
2. Govies love their PJ’s: Earlier this fall we asked what your personal dress code is when teleworking. Interestingly enough, 75% of respondents of this survey prefer a personal dress code of jeans and t-shirts, sweats or pajamas. No suit, no tie, no problem!
3. Telework and satisfaction go hand-in-hand: More than two-thirds of respondents indicated that they work remotely at least some of the time, and most are extremely happy with the results. In fact, of those who don’t telework, 50% stated that they would make a career move if they found a job that offered the option to telework!

What is your biggest reason for teleworking? Is it the commute, the attire, or simply the ability to escape the busy and tiring life in an office and recharge?
